Research interest

Dra. Samira Nahim scientific career is focused in the application of advanced oxidation and photocatalytic processes for the simultaneous disinfection and decontamination of industrial/urban wastewater and the assessment of their subsequent reuse for vegetables irrigation studying the translocation of the microbiological and chemical pollutants to the irrigated crops.

Multidisciplinary education: Degree in Chemistry, Master in Advanced Chemistry (extraordinary award and RSEQ award), Master in Quality Management and Safety in the Agro-food sector and PhD in Biotechnology and Industrial Bioprocesses Applied to Agrifood and Environment (extraordinary award, IPS-AOP award and Water in Agriculture, Irrigation and Agri-food sector award-UAL). Her professional activity began in 2015 in the field of Green Chemistry. After that, her research activity in the University of Almería-Plataforma Solar of Almería is focused in the treatment and reuse of wastewater. Samira Nahim is author of 17 publications in indexed international journals, 5 technical publications, 1 book chapter and 1 patent. She has been involved in 9 International and 7 National R&D Projects and has more than 50 contributions to different International Congress and Symposiums. Scopus h-index: 13.
