Research interest

Dr. Ana Ruiz-Delgado (female) scientific career is focused on industrial and urban wastewater treatment through advanced oxidation processes (based or not on solar energy) and its combination with physical-chemical pre-treatment systems and advanced biological treatments for its reuse, in membrane technologies (membrane distillation, MD) applied to treated wastewater for the recovery of nutrients in addition to water disinfection by different advanced oxidation technologies.

Track record

Dr. Ana Ruiz-Delgado has a degree in Chemical Engineering and obtained her Advanced Chemistry PhD in 2019 thanks to obtaining a pre-doctoral contract at the University of Almería of the Ministry of Economy, Innovation, Science and Employment, Secretary General of Universities, Research and Technology of the Junta de Andalucía within the framework of the project: "Characterization and treatment of industrial wastewater of different origin (leachate from landfills and effluents from the cork industry) (RNM 1739)". She enjoyed a one-year postdoctoral contract associated with the said project at CIESOL in 2020 and she currently has a postdoctoral contract associated with the Margarita Salas Grants for the requalification of the Spanish university system. She has been involved in 3 national, 1 regional and 2 international projects. She has made 2 stays at the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (Portugal). She has participated in 20 posters and 19 oral presentations in several national and international congresses and scientific project meetings. She has 14 papers in SCI journals (H-index: 7, Scopus, July 2023) in the field of wastewater treatment and pollutant removal.
