Research interest

The main objective of her research is to find out new treatment methods for an effective decontamination and disinfection of wastewater, seeking solutions that are respectful and sustainable with the environment. The ultimate goal is to obtain regenerated water that can be reused in agriculture, to reduce the scarcity of water resources, without affecting the human health and the ecosystem in the long-term.

Track record

She has a degree in Chemistry, a specialization in Environmental Chemistry and she obtained her PhD in the "Doctoral Programme in Textile Engineering" organized by the Universitat Politècnica de Valencia (UPV) (prize for the doctoral thesis in the category “Planeta y Desarrollo Sostenible”, sponsored by the UPV, through the "Instituto Universitario de Investigación de Ingeniería del Agua y Medio Ambiente (IIAMA)). She obtained a pre-doctoral grant within the framework of the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Grant Agreement No 765860 (AQUAlity), carrying out the research activity at CIEMAT-Plataforma Solar de Almeria facilities. She is author of 9 publications in high indexed journals and she has been involved in different communication/outreach/dissemination activities. Four secondments (10 months) were conducted during her PhD and she has been participated in international and national projects.
