The Plataforma Solar de Almería’s Quality Policy is the following:
As the main activities at the Plataforma Solar de Almería are to serve as a research and training centre for scientists, this service must satisfy the expectations and requirements of all its employees and visitors, and therefore under its Quality System, the following lines of work are considered essential.
Improve Administrative Management of all the services offered by the Plataforma Solar de Almería, and especially:
- The best possible management of payments, setting priorities according to the beneficiary.
- Manage purchasing and service contracts, and any other expenditures generated by the activity of the Plataforma Solar in a suitable manner.
- Set up adequate management of the organisation’s human resources, assigning responsibilities to each position and offering effective continued training to personnel, to enable them to continually adapt to changing technology or work systems.
- Supervise compliance with supply and service contracts effectively, beginning with participation in the selection committees.
- Facilitate support of the Plataforma Solar’s projects by establishing synergies among its technical services.
- Follow up on budgets approved annually by the different areas of the Plataforma Solar, evaluating how well amounts and dates of the individual items in it are met.
- Offer visiting foreign researchers the attention they require, considering:
- Provide any facilities they require in the best possible operating condition
- Provide them with any IT (both software and hardware) and ITCS resources they may require
- Effectively manage travel and accommodations for visiting scientists, with advance arrangements for the duration of their stay, itineraries, schedules and foreseeing anything else they may need to have available while here, such as transportation, language, etc.
- Ensure that they receive the best possible technical service at the Plataforma Solar, including availability of any resources necessary.
- Garantizar una adecuada asistencia por parte de los servicios técnicos de la Plataforma Solar de Almería, ofreciendo tanto una óptima asistencia técnica como la disponibilidad de los recursos necesarios.
- Foster integration and training of students who assist Plataforma Solar staff, providing them with the resources necessary to make best use of their training, especially with regard to:
- Have all of the materials and resources they need to carry out their activity, including bibliographic, IT and ITC resources.
- Have adequate scientific and technical assistance, from both personnel in the project they are participating in and the Plataforma Solar’s technical service staff.
- Offer adequate consulting service to outside organisations, pursuing growing use of PSA resources for experimentation and validation of designs and prototypes
We think that working to improve the above, activities at Plataforma Solar will become more efficient, and the level of satisfaction and use made by visitors will increase simultaneously.
Therefore, we urge all personnel to attempt to carry out the initiatives included in this Quality Policy in all of their activities with the commitment of the Director to provide any resources necessary for its effective compliance.
The quality policy and goals shall be communicated to all Plataforma Solar organisation levels through the normal Internal Communications channels, which are:
- Handing a copy to each member of the organisation
- Making use of training/information meetings
- Posting on notice boards.
It is intended to involve all personnel in its compliance. Furthermore, The Quality Policy is part of the Quality Manual, so it is permanently controlled, like any other system document.
The Quality Policy is reviewed annually by the Director, and its change or not is evaluated immediately.
